New Green-Themed Piaget Polo Date And Polo Skeleton Watches

Piaget, the Swiss watchmaker, has introduced two new Polo models in green – the Piaget Polo Date and the Piaget Polo Skeleton. The colour is taken from the natural surroundings of the Piaget Manufacture of La Côte-aux-Fées.

The Piaget Polo Date (G0A47010) is a non-limited piece that has a diameter of 42mm and a thickness of 9.4mm. The case is made of 69.14g Rose Gold with a sapphire case-back and water resistance of up to 10 ATM. It features a 1110P automatic mechanical movement with a date function at the 6 o’clock mark. Power reserve of this movement is about 50 hours. The strap is made of Green Alligator hide.

The Piaget Polo Skeleton (G0A47008) is also non-limited and also has a diameter of 42mm. However it has a thickness of just 6.5mm (not the thinnest from Piaget) and its case is made of stainless steel. The bracelet too is a steel bracelet, but they’ve also made a green alligator strap available and interchangeable. It too is powered by an automatic movement, but in this case it’s a 1200S1 Skeleton movement finished in green and visible through the face. Power reserve is lower at just 44 hours and water resistance is just 3 ATM. There is sapphire glass on the case back as well. This timepiece will be a boutique exclusive model.

Green symbolizes the power of nature and the celebration of life. It is the predominant colour expressed in the vibrant nature surrounding the piaget manufacture and has always been an inspiration for the maison.

From the early 1960s, green would become an integral hue in the creative palette. Jade, jasper, malachite, and emeralds were sought out by the Maison for their individuality and Piaget started to adorn its most sophisticated creations with stones of this colour bringing an additional touch of audacity to its masculine and feminine collections. Even today, the Maison’s artisans continue to find inspiration in this palette of green that they bring to life with their savoir- faire and creativity to offer bold and stylish pieces.

This energetic colour infuses the Piaget Polo Date and a Piaget Polo Skeleton models, bringing to the collection a new shade of bold. A rose gold case contrasts the green-hued godrons patterns of the dial of the Piaget Polo Date, while the Piaget Polo Skeleton has been crafted with green bridges, bringing a new style and light to the skeleton’s architectural lines.

There are few finer expressions of horological art than that of skeletonization – the intricate reduction of dials and movements to their bare minimum in order to reveal the true beating heart of a watch in all its mechanical glory.

Creating a skeleton watch to achieve exceptional aesthetics requires vision, confidence, and the considerable skill and experience of numerous specialists in order to combine design with dependable functionality. It is a genre for which Piaget has become renowned for over half a century.

These two new Piaget Polo editions catch the light in all its beauty, taking the collection into a new territory of expression for trendsetters who love design, elegance, and want to share their shade of bold.
